Description

Pineapples were all the rage in the Georgian era, when England discovered the tropical fruit and used it to decorate everything - including fabric. A fabulous pineapple-themed decorator fabric forms the base of this Robe L'Englaise style bodice with short skirt peplum.

The upper bodice and sleeves are lined with gold cotton, and interlined with muslin, fullly boned and secure with front grommet closure. The model is shown laced with our very own custom cording (not included - ask us about it). The peplum is half-length so it can be worn over another skirt, either a simple peasant skirt or a more formal under/overskirt from the same era. Measurements approximately 44 bust, 40 waist, lengths and sleeve measurements available upon request.

Heavy polyester fabric with cotton lining and interlining can be machine washed and dried, and ironed on a poly setting. All seams fully finished to prevent fraying.

This is a unique piece, we will never make another. One it's gone, it's gone forever, as this specialty fabric is no longer available anywhere.
